When I was talked into joining UBC, I had doubts that I could complete 10 tough weeks.
It just seemed like a long time, I was not in good shape, existing heart disease and the excuses kept coming. I finally decided to go for it. My initial goal was to lose at least 20 lbs. and hopefully kick-start a healthier lifestyle.

Now that the 10 weeks have passed, I can clearly see how it’s changed my life. I have more energy, I sleep well and feel great. I dropped 24 pounds and as a bonus, my cardiologist reduced the dosage based on significant improvements with my cholesterol

numbers. He was really impressed and recommended I stay on the program. It is the first time in the 15 years of taking meds that the dosage has been decreased. I was extremely happy and continue to reap the benefits of a healthier lifestyle.

UBC is very challenging and definitely not the boring type of workout often encountered at most gyms. I also did not expect to meet so many wonderful people encouraging each other with a common goal of living healthier. You learn as a team and build good friends along the way. "Wow! What a difference the UBC has made in my life! When I first started the 10 week Ultimate Body Challenge (UBC) I knew I needed something different, a new way to workout. I had quit smoking and had gained an extra 15 pounds. I remember when I first talked to Jim Graden about starting the UBC and he talked about the UBC support team and how I would get the motivation I needed and we were all going on a fitness journey together. All I kept thinking was, " Just let me lose the weight and I'll be happy ".

I've since realized that he was teaching me (us) a way of life. A way to eat better and healthier and a FUN way to "work out" that will truly reshape your body! I saw major differences after my 10 week UBC course. I lost the weight, but I had no idea what a transformation my body would make. I was RESHAPING. I started seeing muscles in my arms, my stomach, my legs, Muscles I didn't even know I had!

Yes, I was one of those girls who really just wanted to see the scale go down and it did, but the inches were going away and the reshaping of my body was making the biggest difference! Not only did I lose the weight, I have been able to keep it off! When I started the UBC my weight was 156 pounds I am now a slim 115 and feeling great!

During the first year of my UBC experience, I ran five 5k's. This was HUGE for me because before the UBC I couldn't even run to the end of my street! This past November 21, 2010 I ran my first 1/2 Marathon (13.1) miles! The discipline and the strength I have gained in the UBC has allowed me to set and REACH goals for myself I never thought possible! The support and inspiration I got from my Coach, my Instructors and Mr. Graden was unbelievable! I had never gotten that much genuine support from a gym or a workout place before.

After my 10 week UBC I wanted to help others like my coaches helped me so I became a coach. The biggest surprise to me, and is now what means the most to me, was the friends I have made and kept with the other Coaches, Instructors and Students. Not just friends.....but my extended family!

It started out with a couple pounds added here, and there. I never realized how unhealthy my body really was, on top of gaining, and gaining… I got married in October 2009 and went to Hawaii for my honeymoon, got back home and printed pics off from the wedding and from Hawaii... And realized, WOW, I really need to get on the ball with losing weight… Well, I did not even know where to begin. I did not know what to eat other than salad, which no one wants to eat salad everyday, all day, I went to the gym but I didn’t even know really how to get started. So a friend of mine was already into kickboxing at Moss Tae Kwon Do and asked me to come along… I was nervous about going just because I did not even know what I was really getting myself into… BUT she enjoyed the class, so I came along to try it “one” time, and I was hooked… It only took a few times before I decided to join the class. I started toning and shaping up so fast, I learned how to work out, I learned how to keep my balance, it was amazing how the weight started falling off! I did a lot of research for healthy food to eat, I went to local health food stores to get some tips, each month I was losing more and more…

What I realize now is that I was implementing everything recommended by the UBC! You won’t have to do all the leg work that I did. UBC has it all charted out for you. Hope to see you at the next UBC Start Date!
